Muffy Davis competed in Paralympic alpine skiing and para cycling, winning a total of seven Paralympic medals, three of which are gold medals. Daisy Lee Gatson Bates was an American Civil Rights leader, journalist, and author who fearlessly worked for equality and justice for Black Americans. She was a champion of the integration of schools and provided leadership for the Little Rock Nine. With this sculpture’s installation in the National Statuary Hall, Benjamin Victor will become the only living artist to have four sculptures in the United States Capitol, National Statuary Hall Collection.
